Locus Cloud

When it comes to deployment speed and speed of scalability, OpenText on Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google is leaps and bounds ahead of on-premise deployments.  Cloud allows your organization to expand operations, optimize use cases, throughputs, etc. on-demand.  Attempting those types of changes in an on-premise environment would require new hardware, software updates, people to review and approve, teams to implement, etc. which also assumes you have the rack space, cooling capacity, physical storage and power to even tackle the challenge.

On-premise systems have a large up-front installation cost. Not only that, businesses need dedicated IT teams to look after their systems and reduce downtime. They also need separate infrastructure for backup and disaster recovery, which takes a lot of time and money to implement and typically results in significantly more administrative costs.  Leveraging a Locus cloud solution, you won’t have to invest in new machines, infrastructure, or replace aging servers and you also don’t need to make space for infrastructure and servers.

Content Management

Developing an ECM Strategic Plan for an organization or department may sound like a daunting task, but it’s a relatively straightforward undertaking that follows a proven process. In fact, it’s usually quite rewarding since most organizations and departments have many areas in which they can benefit from thought leadership to align their content practices to better support the organizational objective.

Locus will guide your team in defining your content management needs, solution value, and organizational priorities. The strategic plan follows a staged approach incrementally uncovering components leading to a measurable outcome that meets your objectives.  The process takes into consideration; internal analysis or work product that has already been completed, corporate and governance standards, team knowledge, corporate priorities, and specific requirements of the organization.  The resulting deliverable is an organizational ECM Strategic Roadmap that will outline the timeline and key milestones that are based on your assessment of risk, benefit, value, and scope.

Subsequent to sign-off by the stakeholders, the delivery of the services is managed and monitored by Locus’ Project Management Office following a methodology that ensures strong communication, consideration to change management, adherence to budget, and alignment with organizational objectives. Records Management & Information Governance

OpenText has one of the most comprehensive and sophisticated records management modules in the industry which allows your organization to implement technological controls to meet your information governance objectives. From physical paper or boxes in a warehouse to SAP transactions and content, Locus has the experience and skills required to leverage the technologies and move towards a paperless environment.

Locus begins with a records readiness assessment to review the objectives and governance framework that has previously been created to develop an alignment strategy. The outcome of a records management roadmap will outline the implementation plan to meet the objectives – in most cases, this is a staged/gated project that allows your organization to see the benefits of the implementation quickly.

Reducing file system volumes by applying compression and de-duplicating redundant documents, time-savings associated with having a single source for internal searching and repurposing of content, discovery, as well as audit and compliance are just a few of the benefits realized.

SAP Extended Enterprise Content Management

SAP Exxtended enterprise content management (xECM) is a complete, enterprise-grade ECM solution that is optimized and integrated with SAP. Unstructured content of any sort can be managed throughout its lifecycle, and more importantly, associated with any SAP transaction.

SAP and non-SAP users can now collaborate in a common environment, improving process efficiency through the integration of documents and SAP transactions providing a 360 degree view across the organization.

Many organizations see an immediate ROI by automating the association of unstructured content with the SAP transaction which drastically reduces the time it takes users to find content, as well as errors in locating the correct content that are typical in an environment that hasn’t been integrated.

Locus is proud of the long-standing Public-Private relationship with the Province of Ontario. Locus has completed hundreds of solution-based projects across all Ontario Government Clusters and augmented staffing throughout various Ministries.

Java, .Net, Cognos, consultants afford the ministries flexibility and opportunities for knowledge transfer. Most of our staff have existing Security clearance and can be made available in short notice.

Locus has once again been placed on the Task Based Vendor of Records (VOR) arrangement with the Government of Ontario. The VOR is used primarily for IT services that require particular knowledge and skills. The agreement offers ministries access to expert resources that will assist them in dealing with many of the inherent challenges and issues involved in determining and implementing appropriate business and technology solutions. Locus has a long track record of success under this VOR, and brings a unique approach to servicing our clients.

The Managed Service Provider (MSP) for Contingent Information Technology (IT) Resources services is a Vendor of Record (VOR) arrangement established to provide to all ministries and approved agencies of the Government of Ontario, and may optionally be used by non-Ontario Public Service (OPS) entities. The MSP will provide MSP services and be the single channel through which Contingent IT Resources are provided to clients. The MSP will be responsible for sourcing, providing and managing the Contingent IT Resources.

The Managed Service Provider (MSP) model reflects input from vendors, as well as market research. It is a best practice recognized by the IT and vendor communities and used widely by private and public sector organizations and jurisdictions, including five other provinces. This new arrangement is in line with the government’s digital transformation initiatives and its work on an integrated supply chain that is anticipated to reduce costs and make it easier and more efficient to do business with government and across the broader public sector.

Task-Based Informatics Professional Services (TBIPS)

Locus Systems holds an active Supply Arrangement with the Government of Canada for Tasked-Based Informatics Professional Services (TBIPS). The TBIPS Supply Arrangement is an arrangement between the Government of Canada and Locus Systems, as represented by the Ministry of Public Works and Government Services Canada, supplying technical resources to all Federal Government departments and Crown Corporations including Project Manager, Application Architect, Programmer Analyst, System Analyst, Business Analyst and Database Administrator.

The TBIPS Supply Arrangements are divided into various domains of expertise. Locus Systems has been qualified for the following domains covering all regions:

ProServices (PS) Supplier

Locus Systems is a qualified ProServices (PS) supplier for the Federal Government. ProServices is an electronic procurement tool that assists federal departments in the procurement (below the NAFTA threshold) of professional services such as Informatics Professional Services with a total of 27 categories, including programmers, programmer analysts, project managers (IT), senior systems analysts, technology architects, technology analysts and web developers.

Locus Systems has been successfully providing services in the past decade to both the Canadian Provincial and Federal Government, including Natural Resources Canada, Library of Parliament, Ontario Ministry of Government Services, demonstrating the highest levels of commitment and quality.
